We’ve been lots of interesting places on our travels but have yet to film north of Dundee to film any Aberdeenshire weddings. So we’re especially excited to head north of the Tay for the next two weddings, both at wonderful venues.

First up, we’re shooting at Ballogie estate on Royal Deeside;

Aside from the fact that it sits in beautiful grounds which are, at least for my taste, an absolute gold mine for videography, it is also the birthplace of the legendary Donald Dinnie, a man who won the highland games championship every year for 20 years. I’ll be keen to find the Dinnie Stones, a set of boulders weighing over 350kg which he carried almost 10metres over the nearby bridge and back. Anyway, enough reminiscing about athletics. We’re filming here for the unfeasibly lovely couple, Nicola and Malcolm, who I met at the Dome in Edinburgh recently. Such a positive couple, I can tell it’ll be a great vibe on the day. I’m also chuffed to be working with Craig George, whose vintage (indeed full film shooting) style is right up our street.

If every there was a beautiful wee chapel that has landed straight out of the pages of Harry Potter, this one has to be it. The house itself is another cracker, situated in wooded grounds with lovely old features and turrets. I am open minded to all styles of weddings and shooting, but give me a mossy landscape and an old building and I’m in heaven. I just hope the midges stay at bay. I’m also hugely fortunate to be working with another wonderful couple in Ashlynn and Will. Having met them near Edinburgh recently and bonded over a mutual appreciation of Ludovico Einaudi and Ikea suction cap washing up brushes, I can go into the day knowing we’re on the same wavelength and confident to just do what instinct tells me to. Again, I’m delighted to be working alongside Emma Lawson Photography. I’ve stalked Emma’s photos on Instagram for a while now and they are superb.

So, suffice to say I am entirely looking forward to shooting these two Aberdeenshire weddings. As ever, I have no idea what the end product I produce I will look like, but I’m really excited to find out. If you are getting married in Aberdeenshire, or indeed anywhere, and want your memories captured in our unique style, then do get in touch today.
