Kate & James Wedding Film // Pratis Farm, Fife // Barn Wedding

Kate & James got married in wonderful rustic splendour at Pratis Farm in Fife. Every wedding I shoot is different and I always tell couples that I never operate to a strict template when editing a wedding. This film definitely had a different, chilled vibe to it. Nothing ever taken too seriously, which is a good thing, resulting in an almost festival feel. It helped that the weather was amazing too.

Tell us about your day; what were your expectations, how did you feel, how did it all go?

We decided to get married at Pratis because it felt comfortable, very chilled and somewhere we could make our own. All we really wanted was all of our fave people in the one place, with good food, music and booze. We were both pretty chilled in the run up to the day and we’re happy with how it all turned out. The sun even shone for us 🙂

How did you meet and become engaged?

We met on Tinder (ssshhh) We’d been together a few years and then James popped the question on Christmas Eve 2016. I laughed in his face and then said yes!

Where did you find inspiration for your wedding?

All of our ideas really came from Pratis Farm and what it offered (and a few cheeky Pinterest searches). We wanted something chilled and not overly ‘done’. We also have very talented friends and family! My sis-in-law made our amazing wedding cake, my bridesmaids shared their artistic flair and my Mum did the flowers.

Why did you choose Pratis Farm?

We were initially keen to get married abroad, just us. But realised that we really wanted our families there. There was a random Facebook pop up for Pratis one day… we took a Sunday drive out to see the barn and its owner Susie, and knew pretty much instantly that it was where we wanted to get married.

Why did to choose to have a video of your day?

We really hummed and hawed to be honest. We had friends who had a video/who didn’t. We wondered if we’d ever watch it. But in the end,  we decided that we might  regret not getting one but unlikely that we’d regret getting one. So glad we decided to do it. And so happy we found Rob @ Curious Robin. He was super chilled from start to finish ( like us!)

What was your favourite part in your highlight film?

Ahh. Tough one. We love seeing all our friends and family dancing…chatting…drinking.. seeing all the things that we didn’t notice on the day.  James enjoyed seeing the bridal getting ready process! And we both really enjoyed my Dad’s  speech at the start of the video. Great memories 🙂

Any tips for future Brides and Grooms?

Try to keep calm and not get overly stressed. It should be (and hopefully is) one of the best days of your lives. Soak it all up. You’ll (weirdly) miss the planning once it’s all done. Oh and don’t drink too much fizz in the morning 🙂

Any unexpected moments?

haha. Maybe.
